On the Road with the Swiss Mining Institute

It’s a great time to be in the mining sector.

Interest has been building as the commodities cycle gathers momentum, and despite ongoing geopolitical volatility, there’s a real buzz returning—evidenced by the massive turnout across industry events worldwide.

Against that backdrop, StockBox Head of Content Mark Fairbairn will be out on the road over the coming weeks, attending two major conferences hosted by the Swiss Mining Institute.

The SMI, part of Bally Capital Advisors SA, hosts two major investment conferences each year, bringing together more than 1,000 professional investors and over 100 mining companies.

• Mark’s first stop will be SMI Zurich, taking place on 18–19 March.

During the event, he will be meeting a range of attending companies, including sit-down interviews with Rainbow Rare Earths and Hot Chili.

Alongside company interviews, Mark will also be reporting on the broader themes and trends he is seeing across the conference floor, as well as chairing two panel discussions.

The first panel, titled “Thriving in a Commodities Bull Market”, will feature insights from leading industry voices such as:

• Jeremy Bond – Terra Capital

• Peter Krauth – Author of The Great Silver Bull

• Edward Bonner – Sprott Asset Management USA

Later in the day, a second panel, focused on broader market trends and opportunities within the sector, will feature:

• Florian Grummes – Midas Touch Consulting

• Willem Middelkoop – Commodity Discovery Fund

• Matt Geiger – MJG Capital Fund, LP

• Looking slightly further ahead, Mark will also be attending SMI’s inaugural conference in Panama on 15–16 April.

As in Zurich, Mark will be interviewing presenting companies, reporting from the ground, and chairing further panel discussions alongside industry experts.

In preparation for the event, Mark has already been speaking with a number of presenting companies to get a sense of the opportunities they will be showcasing. Recent interviews include discussions with:
